After a break-in at an ATM in Karlstein an der Thaya (Lower Austria), the handcuffs clicked in the Czech Republic for two men (aged 23 and 28). Months earlier, the Ukrainian and his Bulgarian accomplice are said to have struck not only in the financial institution Waldviertel, but also twice in the Hollabrunn district.
From Karlstein via Brno in the Czech Republic to the prison of Korneuburg: this is the “route” of the ATM thieves who were caught. Because after their nighttime coup in the Waldviertel, the two fled to the neighboring country. Their problem: the local investigators were able to track down the murder vehicle, a car with a Polish license plate. In Brno, the two were detained by police officers and arrested on the basis of a European arrest warrant. The crime clothes, among other things, were secured.
Two more burglaries
The young men are also believed to be responsible for two burglaries in the Hollabrunn district. In Hadres they welded open an ATM at the beginning of December and took off on e-scooters. The next day they tried their luck in Unterretzbach, but failed in the same way this time.
Currently, the duo is still in the Brno prison. After the transfer, they are interrogated by officials and taken to Korneuburg.
