At least four civilians were killed and three others wounded in Russian bombings of Ukraine on Friday. The attackers used a glide bomb with a mass of 250 kilograms, among other things, which damaged several residential buildings, authorities said.
The attack took place in the Donetsk region in the east of the country. The day before, at least three people were killed and nearly twenty were injured by Russian shelling in the same region. More than thirty residential buildings were damaged.
On Friday, there was another attack in the industrial city of Dnipro. A Russian missile hit a high-rise building there, military governor Serhiy Lyssak said tonight. At least one person was killed and three wounded were still in critical condition that evening. People were also said to be under the rubble. The city has been bombarded with missiles several times since the beginning of the war.
Power plant destroyed
In western Ukraine, an important power plant for heat supply was completely destroyed. It also cannot be rebuilt, said the region’s governor, Svitlana Onyshchuk. According to her, there were more than twelve Russian attacks on the plant. Next winter, boiler systems with district heating will be installed for the residents of the region.
The war in Ukraine has been going on for more than two years. In light of the recent attacks, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi has again called for strengthening air defenses. Only the determination of the world can stop Russian terror, he wrote on social media.
