On Sunday morning, three people were arrested by the police at the Red Bull Ring. Two of them had previously made a gravel bed on the track. Their motives are still unclear.
There was excitement on Sunday morning ahead of the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Spielberg. Immediately before the start of the first Formula 3 race of the day, three people came near the track without permission.
“Two people even reached the gravel bed before they were stopped by the organizer’s security personnel,” police spokesman Heimo Kohlbacher told the “Krone”.
Background not yet known
The police have arrested the three unknown suspects, who are currently being questioned in Knittelfeld. What is particularly interesting is the background to this ‘rail storm’, about which nothing is known yet.
Security checks at the Red Bull Ring have been tightened for days amid fears activists could use the global Formula 1 stage to cause disruption.
