Fire in underground parking garage – house in flames: dead and injured in Switzerland

Two people were killed in a fire in an apartment building in Bulle, Switzerland, on Tuesday evening. About twenty residents were injured.

Police received a report of the fire shortly before 2:30 a.m. By the time emergency services arrived, heavy smoke had already spread.

13-year-old dies of carbon monoxide poisoning
A 52-year-old man and his 13-year-old daughter died of carbon monoxide poisoning. A 48-year-old woman was taken to hospital. About 20 people suffered smoke inhalation and required medical treatment.

Vehicle likely responsible for fire
About 90 people had to be evacuated. The source of the fire was in the building’s underground parking garage. The exact cause is currently being investigated. In total, there were about 60 vehicles in the underground parking garage.
