A 40-year-old Tyrolean wanted to prevent the deportation and threatened a bloody escalation – now the driver was standing in the quay of the regional court in Innsbruck. During the hearing, the bailiff reported frequent threats during his work.
As a bailiff, you have to have a thick skin: “I am threatened with every second deportation,” the officer explained as a witness before the regional court in Innsbruck. And even expressed a certain understanding: “People are under extreme pressure in such situations in life.”
To prevent escalations, he usually calls the debtors before the unpleasant appointments and explains the situation to them.
Hungry dog and explosives as a threat
The outcome in this case: the accused father of six promised a bloody scenario. He refused to feed his attack dog three days before the eviction date and then let him run loose when the bailiff came to his property.
Furthermore, the dangerous threat was said to have been made that the apartment would be blown up before strangers could take anything out. As a result, police officers accompanied the bailiff to the eviction, which again did not go ahead and now lasts a week.
We have often been at war with the rule of law
The 40-year-old driver chose not to appear at the trial. “The defendant has often shown that he does not want to accept the rule of law,” the judge referred to the four previous convictions of the Tyrolean.
In absentia, the man, who was already in personal bankruptcy (debts of 120,000 euros), was sentenced to a nine-month suspended prison sentence and a fine of 1,440 euros – legally not binding.
