This is how the US president and Democratic candidate has responded to the possibility that his aides will try to mobilize him to resign because of his health.

Joe Biden assured in a highly anticipated interview Friday after last week’s presidential debate that the only option to drop out of the presidential race will be if “the Lord Almighty” asks him to.

If the Lord Almighty told me to drop out of the race, I would drop out of the race.“but the Almighty will not come down,” Biden said after being questioned by journalist George Stephanopoulos in an interview broadcast on time by ABC, which raised high expectations as it was the first after last week’s election debate debacle.

Biden’s response came after Stephanopoulos questioned him about how he would respond if Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi expressed concerns about the loss of power.

Biden has repeatedly denied that this is going to happen, saying these are all “hypothetical” scenarios.

The president, who would have served in the White House for more than 85 years if re-elected, said: “I don’t think there’s anyone better qualified than me to be president and to win this race.”

Biden, who has been at the eye of the storm since his performance in the first presidential debate on June 27, in which the president hesitated and failed to string sentences together coherently, also rejected an independent medical evaluation during the interview to show voters that he is in good physical condition to continue his term.

“I have a cognitive test every day (…) Every day I have tests “in everything I do,” Biden responded, adding that his personal doctors would not hesitate to tell him if there was something wrong with his health.

For example, Democratic Senator Mark R. Warner of Virginia is trying to get a group of senators together from his party to pressure the president to give up the presidential candidacy.

Meanwhile he Netflix co-founder and one of its largest donors, Reed Hastingscalled on the president to step aside to “allow a strong Democratic leader to defeat Trump.”
