Keir Starmer sees ‘Rwanda plan’ as ‘dead and buried’ and presents keys to his government’s challenges

Britain’s new Labour Prime Minister Keir Starmer gave assurances on Saturday that his government will pursue “a different policy,” buoyed by the clear majority it won in the recent UK general election. True to his word, Starmer has not waited for that to happen, getting down to work immediately and holding his first meeting as the new head of the executive with his newly minted cabinet this Saturday in Downing Street – now his office and official residence.

Without wasting a minute, he formed a team yesterday in which there were no surprises, just minutes after making his first speech to the nation in that position, after receiving the order from King Charles III to form a government.
