At Munich Airport, 42 restaurants now serve ‘Tenno’, a fine red wine from Kleinhöflein with an adventurous story behind it. It goes back to 1936, when a winemaker from Burgenland began providing development aid in Japan.
Around 70,000 aircraft land or take off at the Satellite Terminal at Munich Airport every year. One in five passengers is on a long-haul flight. Inside, there are no fewer than 42 restaurants spread over 7,000 square metres, most of which are full and where eleven world wines are served by the glass. Since the beginning of July, three have come from Burgenland, from Kleinhöflein, a district of Eisenstadt with 3,200 inhabitants: the top red wine Cuvée Tenno, as well as the Sauvignon Blanc Sonnenberg and the Pinot Gris Ried Kräutergarten – all from the organic winery Winzerschlössl Kaiser.
