As reported, a gang war between rival foreign clans had already escalated in Anton-Kummerer-Park and Treustraße on Friday evening. Young Syrians between the ages of 15 and 21 and Chechens attacked each other with wooden slats, pepper spray, knives and even firearms.
Numerous emergency calls
On Sunday evening, the situation escalated again. The police received numerous emergency calls because armed people had been reported in the area of Klosterneuburger Strasse, Anton-Kummerer-Park and Hannovermarkt. Within minutes, officers from the Brigittenau city police command, WEGA, the emergency unit and the service dog unit were on the scene.
Subsequently, 24 identity checks were carried out. The police confiscated two knives and pepper spray. No criminally relevant actions took place. However, the men found are probably related to the altercation on Friday evening.
Four wounded in next gang war
