Proven fun, new look: Electric grilling is on the rise in urban areas – here grillers like it compact, powerful and functional. The Lumin electric grill shone in 2023 as a major innovation from Weber. Due to its strong success, it now shines in an additional, new colour: in “Mint Green” it takes grilling in urban outdoor areas to a new level. Thanks to its compact size, the Lumin fits on a small city balcony, your own terrace or a communal courtyard. With its 5 functions from spicy grilling to smoking and keeping warm, it is in no way inferior to a charcoal or gas grill.
Unique 5-in-1 functionality
“Thanks to temperatures of over 315 °C, the Lumin enables sharp grilling and beautiful grill marks on steaks etc. With the smoke function, the electric grill even produces smoky flavours like those of a smoker,” explains Yulia Haybäck, Weber grill master. Steaming also brings vegetables to their perfect perfection. The defrost and keep-warm function completes the functional portfolio of Lumin. This means that you can grill recipe creations with a wow effect, from a quick lunch in the office to a dinner with friends.
Many recipe options
Pineapple-feta skewers, garlic steaks and coalfish with grilled onions: everything is possible on the Lumin electric grill. Exciting by the way: if you know critics of electric grills or are one yourself, there are exciting results from blind tastings. They have shown that steaks from an electric grill taste the same as those from a gas or charcoal grill. This is not due to the charcoal, but rather to the Maillard reaction, which browns and flavors food when it is grilled, and to what is known as ‘white smoke’. This occurs when fats and juices touch the hot grill surfaces, releasing aromatic substances that create the characteristic grilled taste.
Smart grilling experiences
The Lumin electric grill can be used with the smart Weber Connect technology. This free app from Weber contains more than 800 grilled dishes: there are no limits to your creativity for delicious recipes and special creations. Step-by-step instructions guarantee restaurant-quality grilled dishes. If you also work with a smart core temperature sensor, you can also achieve the right doneness levels for meat and fish.
More big news from Weber
And that’s not all: While it all started at Weber in 1952 in Chicago with George Stephen’s idea to convert a simple ship’s buoy into a kettle grill, this year Weber is presenting the most modern SmartControl gas grill in the company’s entire history: the “Summit FS38X”, for grilled food of restaurant quality and with a high-quality infrared sear zone for temperatures up to over 815°C, such as the BBQ market has never seen before. It uses the heat from above for even better grilling results without contact with flames.
Also new: Weber is tapping into the Mediterranean trend of plancha grilling and is presenting the first “Weber SLATE GP Premium Plancha” – a gas grill that is perfect for lovers of everything from grilled seafood and vegetables to trendy smash burgers. The plancha reaches high temperatures of over 260 °C within ten minutes and impresses with a modern, digital temperature display.
With the “Weber BBQ Kitchen” Weber enters the outdoor kitchen market. A product created by a team of Austrian entrepreneurs, including Matthias Fuchs and Benedikt Mitterlehner, both directors of the popular Weber Original Stores.
All fans of recipe books will get their money’s worth with the new book “Weber’s Ultimate Heat”: the first barbecue book that completely re-examines the correct use of high temperatures. Because: “More is not always more”, say the grill masters behind Weber. All new products are now or will be available soon at weber.com and in all Weber Original stores.
