An assailant, reportedly armed with a knife, attacked several passengers at Stuttgart Central Station on Monday evening, seriously injuring two of them. After a short search, a suspect was arrested.
The incident reportedly took place shortly after 2 a.m. in the station’s waiting room. According to German media reports, a 63-year-old woman and a 69-year-old man were taken to hospital with their injuries.
The background of the crime is still unknown. The police were able to arrest a 26-year-old suspect about an hour after the attack near the train station, in the Upper Palace Garden.
A similar incident a few days earlier
According to a report by bild.de, a similar knife attack took place on Saturday. One man was stabbed in the abdomen. The perpetrator is still on the run.
