A black, stray dog that barked and growled at him – that was the moment a British holidaymaker in the Tyrolean town of Ausserfern got scared on Wednesday morning. He tried to keep the animal at bay with a golf club. But the dog owner didn’t like that at all.
The incident happened on Wednesday around 08:45 on the golf course in Ehrwald. The Brit (67) was on his way to the tee box with his golf club. At an intersection, the black dog suddenly ran towards him. Because the animal was barking and growling loudly, he wanted to keep it at a distance with his golf club, according to the Brit.
At that moment, however, the dog’s owner, a 43-year-old German, came by. He thought that was completely unfair and insulted the Briton. He grabbed the golf club from him and threw it far away.
The fighters fell to the ground
The situation then escalated completely: people shouted at each other and were hit as a result. “The men fell to the ground and the Briton was injured in the shoulder and neck,” is how the police describe the incident. The German ran away after the scuffle, but was addressed by the police shortly afterwards.
Of course, the stories of the two opponents differ greatly. The police therefore hope for witnesses to the incident. There is said to have been a walker in the area. Information to the Lermoos police is requested on the number 059133/7154.
