It is heartless, it is animal abuse. Earlier this week, three young dogs were abandoned in the scorching heat near the Alpbacher Landesstraße in Tyrol. One of the animals was injured. The assumption: it could have been pushed out of a moving car.
The police and the Tyrolean animal welfare association received several reports on Monday and Tuesday. There were reports of visibly disoriented dogs wandering around in the municipality of Reith im Alpbachtal near the main road. The three sweet young dogs were left there to their fate, without food or water.
An animal with countless bruises
Police and animal rights activists rounded up the three scared pooches and took them to the animal shelter. A veterinarian discovered numerous bruises on one of the animals, who was about six months old. The pattern of injuries suggests the dog may have been pushed from a moving car.
According to initial findings, the dogs are mixed “Shiba Inu” breeds. They were not chipped. This is a requirement in Austria. The police therefore assume that the animals were deliberately abandoned. The police are asking the public for information on: 059133/7213. The Tyrol Animal Welfare Association also accepts tips (also anonymously).
