In Italy, a man murdered his uncle and threw his body in the family business’s oven. Last week, he was sentenced to life in prison, but the 39-year-old then fled.
An international arrest warrant was issued across Europe to search for the entrepreneur from the Italian province of Brescia. The man disappeared with his wife and their nine-year-old son after his conviction last week. After a few days, the woman and the child reported that they had returned home. They went on a trip to Spain with the man and then separated. The police then suspected that the entrepreneur had possibly fled from Spain to North Africa.
Garda Arrest
On Thursday, the legally convicted murderer was finally arrested at his villa in Soiana on the western shore of Lake Garda. To date, the convicted nephew has not spent a single day in prison and has never confessed. During the trial, he claimed that he loved his uncle.
The incident took place in 2015. There were repeated disputes between the uncle and his nephew over the management of the family business. The now 39-year-old is said to have accused his relative of making money behind the backs of the rest of the family.
Employees helped cover up the evidence
In order to cover up the traces of the murder, the nephew threw the body into the blast furnace immediately after the crime with the help of two workers. One of the two was found dead in a forest six days later. He probably committed suicide.
