On the Inntal motorway in the Tyrolean lowlands and thus also in the city of Innsbruck, wild scenes played out early Wednesday evening: a motorcycle hooligan chased the police. The suspect was only arrested at a roundabout on the A12. He should not have been driving the car at all.
At around 5:30 p.m., police received several reports that a motorcyclist was driving at excessive speed, without protective clothing and in a winding line from Jenbach towards Innsbruck.
Dangerous scenes in the middle of rush hour
A police motorcycle patrol was eventually able to spot the hooligan at the Hall in Tirol junction and immediately began the pursuit. There were dangerous scenes. The initially unknown man continued towards Innsbruck in the area of the center line between the convoys of vehicles that were stationary during rush hour.
Passed on the right, ignored red light
At the Innsbruck-Ost exit, the motorcyclist left the A12 and raced towards the Südring. He also overtook on the right, drove on restricted lines or restricted areas and ignored a red traffic light.
Trial license holder, but only for cars
The suspect was eventually arrested at the Olympiaworld roundabout. “During the check, the officers discovered that the 26-year-old driver did not have a driver’s license for the relevant class. He also has a probationary driver’s license,” the police report. Relevant advertisements will follow.
