Two people died on Friday when a scaffolding collapsed in western Lausanne. At least four people were seriously injured and others sustained moderate or minor injuries.
The accident took place on the construction site “Malley Phare” in Prilly. This construction project aims to add a wooden high-rise to the western part of the Malley Lumières shopping centre.
In total, about a dozen people were injured, a spokesman for the Vaud cantonal police said at the scene of the accident.
In total, the building is 19 floors or almost 60 meters high, according to the police spokesman. The police have cordoned off a large part of the area. The accident happened shortly before 09:30. Large parts of the scaffolding fell into the depths.
