The Tyrolean police in Kufstein have been concerned about an “inexplicable fall incident” since mid-May. A German (22), who was heavily intoxicated, claimed that he had been attacked by several men and pushed over a bridge railing. Apparently it was all made up.
The man had initially stated that he had been attacked by a group of about five men in the evening and pushed over the railing of the Inn Bridge. He then fell into the dike, which sloped down about seven meters. The man was admitted to hospital after the fall.
Complaint for false pretenses
In the meantime, young men of southern descent were being sought as suspects. The State Criminal Police Office was also involved in the evaluation of evidence and interviews, police said Friday. After extensive investigation, the 22-year-old now admitted that he had fallen over the railing himself. He was charged with falsifying an act that could be punished.
