A mild outcome – driver searched for mobile phone: cars collided on A12

Date:

Two motorists got out relatively lightly on the A12 Inntal motorway in the Tyrolean lowlands on Saturday morning after their two cars collided. An 18-year-old said he was trying to get his mobile phone from the floor of the vehicle.

The 18-year-old Turk was driving on the A12 near Kolsass (Innsbruck-Land district) towards Kufstein on Saturday around 7:30 am. He told the police that his mobile phone had fallen out of its holder and that he was trying to pick it up from the floor.

The young man may have overlooked the car in front of him. He crashed into the rear of the vehicle, which was driven by a 55-year-old Austrian.

Driver in hospital with minor injuries
Both men were slightly injured in the accident and the rescue team took them to the hospital in Schwaz. There was considerable damage to the two vehicles involved in the accident. There was a traffic jam on the Inntal motorway.
