Within a week (!), a suspected drug driver, who also has no driver’s license, was arrested by the police in Innsbruck for the third time on Sunday. This time, the Hungarian (22) was even smoking a joint when the officers took him off the scene.
The 22-year-old Hungarian now appears to be a “permanent guest” at police checkpoints in Innsbruck. Late Sunday evening, shortly before midnight, the young man was targeted by police on Kranebitter Allee.
The officers probably couldn’t believe their eyes and noses when they pulled the driver out of traffic. They discovered that the driver had “just smoked a joint”, the driver reported on Monday. The Hungarian refused a clinical examination.
Chase and “focus tuning”
For the investigators, the 22-year-old suspect is now an “old acquaintance” as this was the third stop in a week. The weekend before, the man had chased the police. He was eventually stopped and brought before the doctor.
According to the police, he eventually determined that he was suffering from addictive substances and fatigue. Small amounts of cannabis were seized in the Hungarian’s vehicle.
On Thursday, the Hungarian was finally stopped as part of a “tuning focus operation”. In this case too, he had already refused to be taken to the medical advisor.
