An unbelievable drama took place in the outdoor pool of Bad Hall-Pfarrkirchen on Monday afternoon. A ten-year-old child was found floating underwater after suffering a health attack. However, a nine-year-old girl became aware of it and reacted immediately, setting the rescue chain in motion.
The girl is only 9 years old, but has already become a lifesaver. The student from Garsten was lying in the pool of the Bad Hall-Pfarrkichen outdoor pool on Monday around 3:45 p.m. Suddenly she noticed that a ten-year-old girl was floating under the water.
The child, originally from Germany, apparently had an epileptic seizure while swimming in the pool, which probably no one noticed at first. The ten-year-old collapsed and lost consciousness.
When the nine-year-old became aware of the other child, he showed no signs of life. The younger woman immediately realized the seriousness of the situation. She immediately screamed for her father, who also immediately sprang into action, jumping into the water and carrying the ten-year-old to the edge of the pool.
The lifeguard was also informed of the incident. He also immediately rushed to help. After he emptied German’s oral cavity, the child’s breathing and circulation resumed. According to the police, resuscitation was no longer necessary.
The ten-year-old was then flown by rescue helicopter to the University Hospital of Linz, where she will receive further care.
