A Polish holidaymaker was lucky when she fell asleep on her airbed in the Baltic Sea. Her mattress was pushed further and further out to sea, but the 33-year-old was discovered in time.
Last week, members of the water police in the Bay of Gdańsk noticed an air mattress floating about 400 meters from the shore, on which a woman was lying. Suspecting a possible emergency, the police immediately rushed to the scene.
But the case turned out to be an innocent nap. The 33-year-old was only woken up by the police check. At first she was very surprised, the water police say in their report.
Unguarded part of the beach
The bathing beauty had previously been on an unguarded stretch of beach in Krynica Morska and after cooling down, lay down on the mattress to rest. But this decision could have ended much worse, which the woman was also alerted to by the water police. Because the lady was floating out to sea.
The 33-year-old apologized and was taken to shore on a jet ski (see photo above), police said.
