Another serious mountain accident in Styria: a woman slipped in the Schladminger Tauern and suffered serious leg injuries. The hiker had to be flown to hospital by helicopter.
On Wednesday around 2:30 p.m. the woman was on the Lackneralm at Knappenkreuz. She slipped on the wet ground and sustained serious leg injuries. The Schladming mountain rescue service was alerted and went to the scene of the accident in the impassable and alpine terrain together with a medical emergency helicopter from ÖAMTC.
The woman was stabilized and eventually flown to the Deaconess Hospital in Schladming. In connection with this accident, the mountain rescue service is once again calling on people to plan mountain hikes carefully. Especially in high alpine locations, wet and slippery paths can quickly lead to dangerous situations.
