The suspected Trump assassin scouted the location with a drone shortly before the attack.
According to the Wall Street Journal report, he was able to capture aerial photos of the fairgrounds in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, just hours before the attack on former President Donald Trump. The newspaper cited statements from law enforcement officials familiar with the matter.
The findings are likely to raise further questions about whether the site was adequately secured. Former US President Trump (78) was shot in the ear during a campaign event in Pennsylvania last Saturday.
The assassin targeted Trump from the roof of a nearby building. The FBI later identified the shooter as a 20-year-old Pennsylvania man. He was killed after his crime.
The shooter had already been classified as a suspect by local security forces before he committed the crime. However, the suspect’s trail was lost again.
