Serious traffic accident early Sunday evening in the Tyrolean lowlands: In Langkampfen in the Kufstein district, two cars collided near an intersection. A total of seven passengers had to be taken to hospital with injuries.
The fatal accident happened shortly after 18:00. A 17-year-old resident was driving his car on the Langkampfener Straße (L212) from Kufstein towards Kirchbichl. On board were two young men and two women between the ages of 16 and 20.
“At the intersection with the municipal road Mitterweg in Langkampfen, a side collision occurred with a car coming from the north, driven by a 30-year-old German,” the police reported. A 29-year-old woman was in the passenger seat of this car.
All the injured prisoners were taken to hospital
The violent collision caused both vehicles to spin on their own axis before coming to a stop in the middle of the L212. “All seven occupants suffered injuries to varying degrees,” investigators continued. They were all taken to Kufstein District Hospital.
Local diversion set up
There was considerable damage to both cars. Langkampfener Straße was closed to all traffic in the vicinity of the accident site until 8:30 p.m. and a local diversion was set up.
