Crew hired – gang brought cocaine to Europe on sailing yachts

In Spain, police have broken up a gang that was transporting cocaine from South America to Europe on yachts. It is said that the leader of the organization hired the crews of the boats. In the international operation, 50 people were arrested, including 16 from Norway.

A prayer brother “blessed” the smugglers so that they could successfully reach their destination. According to the police, the leader of the organization, known locally as “Professor,” had been involved in the drug trade for more than twenty years. He had the full confidence of the Mexican and Colombian cartels and organized the production and transport of the drugs together with them.

In Spain, the gang had at least yachts that could each carry more than a ton of cocaine. There were bases in Valencia, Alicante and the Canary Islands, among other places, from which ports in Brazil, Colombia and other countries in South America and the Caribbean were served.

Money laundered
The international police operation seized 1.5 tons of cocaine, eight boats, 36 vehicles and 85 phones. According to initial investigations, the gang invested the money earned from drug trafficking in new businesses and laundered it in several countries.
