A 58-year-old man was killed in an industrial accident at a German metal processing plant on Tuesday morning. He reportedly lost both arms in the accident.
At around 7:45 a.m., the fire and police control centers in the city of Hagen (state of North Rhine-Westphalia) received a report of an industrial accident in a steel processing plant.
Colleagues called the emergency services
According to information from the newspaper “Bild”, an employee got stuck cutting a steel band during routine work. The machine quickly cut off both arms of the 58-year-old. Colleagues immediately called 112.
But the rescuers could do nothing for the man. He died at the scene of the accident. Emergency chaplains immediately took care of their colleagues and several employees went into shock.
The Occupational Health and Safety Agency and the police have started an investigation.
