Drug investigators in Lower Austria have now registered a remarkable catch: a priest was arrested on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Act.
The 29-year-old, who worked in the Waldviertel, was immediately banned from any pastoral work by the church, the diocese confirmed. The pastor in question is actually a priest of the diocese of Warsaw in Poland and has only been in the service of the diocese of St. Pölten for almost three years. “The responsible archbishop was therefore immediately informed and will take further steps,” church representatives say.
Close cooperation with the executive branch
