After two women managed to escape unnoticed from the prison in Vienna-Josefstadt in mid-July, a large-scale manhunt was launched for the two prisoners. A few days later, one of the two escapees was arrested by the police. The other is still at large.
Police recognized the 43-year-old fugitive on Tuesday around 10:15 p.m. during a traffic check in Vienna-Währing and arrested her immediately – according to information from “Krone”, apparently in the car of a Tinder date. She was then taken back to prison.
I walked out YES
The two prisoners left the prison on July 18 disguised as “visitors” in casual clothes. The women – aged 31 and 43 – are a convicted criminal serving a prison sentence until 2027 and a suspected fraudster who is in custody.
The Vienna police continue to ask for all relevant information, in particular information about the whereabouts of the fugitive woman – also anonymously – to be passed on to the Vienna State Criminal Investigation Department, Mitte department on 01-31310-43800.
