A violent crash in western Styria injured seven people, including three children and two teenagers. All were taken to hospital. Explosive: A driver from Graz has no driver’s license.
The 38-year-old from Graz was driving her car on the L303 in Wettmannstätten when she crossed the oncoming lane on Thursday around 4:30 p.m. – presumably through carelessness. There she collided with an oncoming car, driven by a 50-year-old man from the Leibnitz district. The impact was so violent that a car was thrown into the field.
Seven people were injured, according to the Red Cross fortunately only slightly. There were four other people in the car of the woman from Graz: 6, 8, 13 and 18 years old. The Leibnitz man had a 16-year-old passenger. After initial care, they were all admitted to the LKH Graz.
No intoxication detected
Neither driver was drunk. The cars were totaled, both the fire brigades of Gleinstätten and Preding were present. They also brought ‘Konrad, the trauma bear’: the teddy bear in a fire brigade uniform comforts children in accidents, fires or apartment openings. He distracts the little ones and tells them that they do not have to be afraid of firefighters.
