A 47-year-old’s day at the beach in Vorarlberg ended tragically on Thursday. The man jumped off a boat into Lake Constance with a “Köpfler” and injured himself so badly that he had to be flown to the state hospital in Feldkirch by helicopter after his rescue.
On Thursday around 19:35, the 47-year-old man jumped from a boat into Lake Constance near the “Salzmann-Hafen” in Fussach. According to initial findings by the police, the lake was probably only 2.2 meters deep at this point. Result: the man probably hit his forehead on the ground.
Injured to an undetermined extent
As a result of the jump, the man suffered unspecified injuries, but so serious that he had to be flown from the rescue helicopter Christophorus 8 to the state hospital in Feldkirch after being rescued by a water rescue and treated by an emergency doctor.
