The 19-year-old (former) driver’s license holder who caused an accident while drunk in Vorarlberg on the night of Friday to Saturday will probably not be behind the wheel of a vehicle for a long time.
Early Saturday morning around 3:30 a.m., the 19-year-old, coming from Bregenz, drove off the Rhine Valley motorway in Hörbranz. At the motorway exit to the intersection with Allgäuer Straße, he drove his car straight onto the traffic island and crashed into several traffic signs.
Escape after a crash
Instead of stopping, the young man decided to continue driving his damaged vehicle towards Hohenweiler. After information from witnesses, the holder of the probationary driving license was eventually stopped nearby by an alert police patrol.
According to the police, a breath test on the young adult showed a blood alcohol level of over 1.6. His driver’s license was confiscated on the spot. The badly damaged vehicle had to be towed away.
