An oil storage facility caught fire during a new Ukrainian drone attack on Russia’s Kursk region, authorities said. Three fuel tanks caught fire. Dozens of firefighters are being deployed to extinguish the blaze.
The Defense Ministry in Moscow also reported several Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian territory, including the Kursk region. However, military reports only mention the downed aircraft, not the hits or damage:
Explosive device fell on residential building
According to Smirnov, debris from a crashed drone also hit a house in a village in the Kursk region, which then caught fire. No one was injured:
In the small town of Sudja, a Ukrainian plane dropped an explosive device on a residential building, injuring a woman who was taken to hospital. The day before, Smirnov had reported several injuries and damage to homes after drone strikes on numerous cities.
Kiev has Russia in its constant sights
Ukraine fires daily on Russian targets, including on the territory of its neighboring state, to block military supplies. With Western help, the country, which has been defending itself against the Russian war of aggression for more than two years, has significantly expanded its own production of drones. The damage and consequences of the attacks are disproportionate to the enormous destruction and the number of deaths caused by Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukraine.
