Two young asylum seekers had such a violent clash in an asylum centre in Eggersdorf near Graz on Sunday that both ended up in hospital.
The fight broke out on Sunday around 9:30 PM in the asylum seekers’ home. First, a 19-year-old Afghan and a 22-year-old Syrian attacked each other verbally, then the conflict became physical: the 19-year-old hit the Syrian with a plastic broom handle. He defended himself and threw a chair at the Afghan, injuring his head. The Syrian suffered further abrasions and a bite wound to the chest.
Both asylum seekers were taken to the LKH Graz and LKH Weiz for further processing. The suspects are reported to the large public prosecutor’s office in Graz. The 22-year-old Syrian was banned from entering or approaching the building.
