Megastar Taylor Swift is on everyone’s lips, but her climate footprint – keyword private jet – is certainly upsetting some activists. In Warsaw, there was now a protest outside the VIP entrance to the concert.
The climate activists accused the American pop singer of ignoring environmental issues, as an AFP photographer observed in the Polish capital. Five members of the group ‘Last Generation’ blocked cars they considered part of the singer’s entourage upon arrival at the national stadium.

“The rich are living at our expense” and “The ultra-rich are killing us” were the banners of the climate activists, who, like Taylor Swift fans, were equipped with cowboy hats and friendship bracelets. Eventually, they were surrounded by police and arrested.
“Tens of thousands are witnessing Taylor Swift’s arrival in Poland. “Hundreds of thousands will die because of the unbridled excesses of the richest 1 percent, including Taylor Swift,” the activists said via Instagram.
Criticism of excessive use of private jets
Swift is “the symbol of the retreat of the rich” from the actual environmental situation, especially since she uses her private jet, the group says. “There can be no feminism without actions to protect against climate collapse.” Taylor Swift is in Warsaw for a total of three concerts as part of her world tour. From August 8 to 10, she will perform in Vienna at the Ernst Happel Stadium in front of a total of around 170,000 fans.
In June, two activists from the Just Stop Oil group gained access to London’s Stansted Airport and spray-painted private jets orange. They justified the action by saying Swift’s plane had landed there “hours earlier.” Police later said Swift’s private jet was not at the airport at the time.
