– CPI July: The National Institute of Statistics (INE) publishes the final data on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the month of July. According to the preliminary data for July, inflation moderated its increase in July, to 2.8% compared to the annual rate, due to lower electricity and food prices. Core inflation, which excludes unprocessed food and energy products, fell by two tenths year-on-year to 2.8%.

– War in Ukraine: Ukrainian troops that entered Russia’s Kursk region a week ago control a total of 28 cities in that federated entity. Meanwhile, Russia has accelerated its advance toward Donetsk. Russian troops have captured Lisichne in Donetsk in the past few hours, other cities last week, and a total of 19 in July.

Fire in Greece: A major forest fire that broke out in Greece on Sunday continues to approach northern Athens, where some 50,000 people have had to be evacuated, while the Greek government has asked the European Union for help in fighting a blaze that has already burned 10,000 hectares.
