The trade union centres are asking for responsibilities to be “clarified” and for the “minimums” established for an essential service to be met.
The unions ELA, CC. OO., LAB, SATSE, SME, ESK and UGT have denounced that the Osakidetza emergency service left more than 80 services “uncovered” during the month of July.
In a statement, the aforementioned centers said they have communicated this situation to those responsible at the Ministry of Health so that they can “debug the responsibilities” and comply with the “minimums” established for an essential service.
According to critics, it is “already common” in the coordination centres where the emergency call is answered that there is no established medical staff and that the medicalised ambulances “increasingly” lack doctors.
This scenario translates into “serious deficiencies” which, in the case of patients, consist of having to wait longer for treatment or not being treated by doctors.
“The already chronic lack of organization on the part of the Emergency Management Team and the lack of decent working conditions have exacerbated the situation this summer,” the memo said.
