On Tuesday afternoon, a motorcyclist in Anger, Styria, drove into the oncoming lane and hit a truck, seriously injuring the 28-year-old motorcyclist.
At about 4 p.m., the 28-year-old motorcyclist was driving from the Weiz district on the L 409 coming from Stubenberg in the direction of Lebing. He should have come across the center of the lane in a right turn and into the oncoming lane. At the same height, a semi-trailer truck approached him, driven by a 26-year-old from the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district. The motorcyclist may have fallen while trying to steer his vehicle to the right again and hit the truck.
Serious injury
The 28-year-old sustained serious injuries and was taken to the LKH Graz after first aid from the Red Cross with the rescue helicopter Christophorus 16. The 26-year-old truck driver was not injured.
Both vehicles sustained significant material damage and had to be towed as a result. The Floing Volunteer Fire Department deployed three vehicles and 15 people.
