Police officers were summoned on Thursday evening for a fight in the central square in Graz: a man is said to have attacked several women. Arriving at the scene, the 38-year-old suddenly attacked the emergency services. He had been arrested.
According to police, the man had harassed and beat several women on the so-called Billa-Eck in Graz’s main square – a well-known meeting place for people with drug problems. When officers arrived on the scene, the 38-year-old attacked them unexpectedly and also punched an officer with his fist. The man behaved so persistently that he eventually had to be handcuffed.
Police officer slightly injured
The attacked police officer suffered minor injuries in the operation, but was able to continue his service. The 38-year-old reports several criminal offenses under the Criminal Code.
