The ski touring season has not really started yet, but the first dramatic incident has already occurred. It happened in the Rosshütte ski area in Seefeld, which is currently closed.
According to the first information, a ski tourer fell in the area of the cold water lift shortly after 11 a.m. on Saturday. The athlete was so badly injured that he went into cardiac arrest.
There happened to be mountain rescuers on site
Witnesses raised the alarm; Two members of the Seefeld/Reith mountain rescue service happened to be on a private ski trip to the mountain rescue service hut in the ski area.
CPR is already underway
“When the alarm came in, we immediately drove 200 meters to the scene of the accident and saw witnesses and an Alpine police officer who happened to be there resuscitating the German,” says mountain rescuer Niklas Haslwanter.
The mountain rescuers then supported resuscitation measures for the seriously injured man. Shortly afterwards, the Christophorus 1 emergency medical helicopter also arrived at the scene of the accident.
Flew to the clinic
The German was eventually flown to the clinic in Innsbruck. The police could not provide any information about the man’s condition.
