Frightening situation for a German holidaymaker in the Zillertal: the woman was suddenly attacked by wasps while hiking and was stung several times. Unfortunately, she suffers from allergies. . .
At around 11:45, the 66-year-old German woman and her husband were walking in Mayrhofen along the Stations of the Cross towards Steinerkogel. While the walkers were resting on a stone, they were suddenly attacked by a swarm of wasps.
Has had countless stitches
The woman, who suffers from allergies, was stung 10 to 15 times. Fortunately, she was well rested and immediately used her ’emergency pen’ to inject herself with medication to relieve the allergic reaction.
By helicopter to the hospital
The man made an emergency call. The woman was transported by the Mayrhofen mountain rescue service to the emergency helicopter and then flown to Hall Hospital, where she was admitted as an inpatient.
