What on earth drives someone to destroy other people’s property in a completely senseless way? Especially when it’s torture! The copy that was supposed to commemorate the deceased Leon (6) was recently demolished by unknown vandals. The Tyrolean police are now looking for witnesses.
Six-year-old Leon died two years ago. At the end of August 2022, the child was found dead in the Kitzbüheler Ache near St. Johann in Tirol. His father was targeted by the police during the investigation. Just a few weeks ago, he was acquitted after 523 days in custody during a spectacular trial at the regional court in Innsbruck!
Hikers reported damage
Along the Redford Promenade in St. Johann, a memorial commemorates the deceased six-year-old. This is exactly what vandals are now targeting. On Saturday morning, a walker reported the damage to the plaque to the local police station.
Window with paving stone broken
“According to previous investigations, the unknown perpetrators probably damaged the window of the wooden box with a paving stone,” the researchers say. The damage has since been repaired. The police are now looking for possible witnesses.
