As police announced on Monday, the boy died on Friday after a brave struggle for survival at the LKH Graz.
The accident happened on August 8 at around 8:45 p.m. in the Steyrergasse bus stop area. After a tram had passed the stop out of the city, the seven-year-old boy ran onto the tracks. He did not see a tram on line 5 driving into the city. Despite the tram’s emergency stop, the boy fell under the train.
To save the child, the Graz fire brigade had to lift the tram with a rescue cushion.
