Supermarket Admits – Parked Eight Minutes Too Long! But No Punishment

Date:

Andreas Aigner parked eight minutes too long in a Spar parking lot in Zell (Salzburg). He was given a penalty – as reported by the ‘Krone’. And then everything was different…

That happened quickly! The Monday issue of ‘Krone’ had barely appeared when the telephone rang at the editorial office. A spokeswoman from the Spar supermarket got in touch and asked for the contact details of Andreas Aigner – the Pinzgauer who had actually received an 80 euro parking fine.

As a reminder, the worker from Niedernsill wanted to buy a snack at the Sparmarkt in Zell am See a few days ago. He parked his car in the parking lot of the branch office. Then he met two acquaintances, had a chat and drove away again after 68 minutes. However, the maximum parking time is one hour. Shortly afterwards he received an unpleasant letter. Aigner was asked to pay 80 euros because he had been in the parking lot for eight minutes too long.

Sorry and voucher waiting
But now everything is different! The penalty is off the table. The spokeswoman of the ‘Spar’ regretted the incident against the ‘Krone’. ‘That’s not how it should work’, they say. Aigner can not only look forward to the fine being lifted, but also to receiving a voucher. ‘I won’t talk for so long. The parking lot is not that big’, laughs the Pinzgauer.
