Avoiding it ended fatally
During the activities, the 71-year-old wanted to allow a family of holidaymakers to pass unhindered at around 2 p.m. and stepped off the paved path.
Fall of 55 meters
The man lost his balance and fell about 55 meters, rolling over several times, according to the investigation. The two companions were able to witness the incident and called the emergency services. After initial treatment at the scene of the accident, the seriously injured man was rescued with a rope and flown to the clinic in Innsbruck.
