On Monday evening there was a WEGA operation in Vienna-Landstrasse. Several passers-by had seen young people who were working with ‘weapons’.
Attentive witnesses immediately alerted the police after seeing the youths in the middle of the park on Schnirchgasse around 7:30 p.m. with what they thought was a weapon.
Toy gun seized
A large contingent of emergency services followed. Even WEGA came by. Two 17-year-olds and a 14-year-old were found on the spot. The alleged weapons were toy weapons, however. They were secured nonetheless.

According to the police, the toy guns were indistinguishable from ‘real’ firearms at a distance. The three youths were caught for disorderly conduct.
