The call coincides with the call already made by the other two majority unions, UGT and CC.OO, which have declared a 24-hour strike in addition to the 22nd for June 29.

ELA, LAB and ESK have called for a strike day for next Wednesday the 22nd at the Mercedes Benz plant in Vitoria-Gasteiz, coinciding with the strike day already presented by the other two majority unions, UGT and CC. OO.
With “almost unanimous” support from the nearly 700 workers who attended the meetings this Wednesday, they have decided to strike between 27 June and 1 July
During these days, the three plants demand that they do not lose their purchasing power, do not increase flexibility or accept the sixth night of work, the improvement of the reception contract, that there is no discrimination for the new institutions to manufacture the V model, specify mobility in their own agreement and arrange and agree with the conditions of those who work weekends and public holidays.
In addition to these five strike days, ELA, LAB and ESK have declared a strike next Wednesday, solely aimed at demanding that there be no more flexibility and no sixth night be introduced.
UGT and CC. OO. They announced at the end of May that they would call a five-day strike between June and July, on alternate days, if no progress is made in negotiations on the new agreement.
The first two 24-hour strikes have already been reported to the competent authorities for June 22 and 29.
ELA, LAB and ESK have suggested to the other two exchanges the possibility to “join” the two calls on the 22nd if they have the same goal.
Of these three unions, they have criticized that the company has “set all machines in motion to attack the working conditions of the workers” and that to counter this “there is only one way”, mobilization, “with the utmost unity, but with clear agreements and goals.
These calls for demonstrations come after the multinational’s management announced the opportunity to make an investment in the Vitoria factory of 1,200 million euros. Both the Basque government and the provincial council of Álava have called for agreement on the collective agreement to secure this investment.
