The government of Venezuela has closed the fraud complaint that weighs on the July 28 elections, after the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) confirmed the victory of President Nicolás Maduro, a result questioned by the majority of the opposition and several countries.

In turn, Venezuelan opposition leaders have rejected the Supreme Court ruling and called for the continued defense of “popular sovereignty,” claiming that the real winner of the event was Edmundo González Urrutia.
“Sovereignty is not transferable to the people,” González himself claimed on his social network account X, shortly after the verdict was read.
