The fire brigade, police and rescue teams were called to Salzburger Straße in Wels on Friday morning for a mysterious fire operation. Mysterious because a seriously injured person was found in an apartment, but no major burns.
Only after a long search did the emergency services find the seriously injured woman in an apartment in a block of flats in Wels-Lichtenegg. Neither the stairs nor the apartment on fire itself were said to have smelled of smoke and there were no major signs of fire visible.
Apartment almost intact
The fire brigade only found a charred pot in the apartment on fire, but no further extinguishing measures were necessary and nothing else was damaged.
Researchers need to clarify the cause
After receiving emergency medical treatment, the injured person was taken to the Wels Clinic, and police fire investigators are now tasked with clarifying what exactly happened in the apartment.
