Another sharp increase in new corona infections: 7093 new cases were reported in Austria in the past 24 hours (from 9.30 am on Thursday). Last Thursday there were 5144 new infections. The present value corresponds to an increase of almost 38 percent in a weekday comparison. Five other people infected with the virus died.
So far there are 4,312,525 positive test results in Austria. At 9.30 am, 18,720 people with SARS-CoV-2 infection had died across Austria, and 4,241,084 had recovered. 500 patients are currently being treated in hospital, 31 of whom are in intensive care.

- Lower Austria: 1484
- Upper Austria: 859
- Salzburg: 369
- Styria: 660
- Tyrol: 410
- Vorarlberg: 317
- Vienna: 2611
