Fatal accident Thursday evening in the Tyrolean town of Ausserfern: a cyclist (38) was hit by a car while crossing a street. The force of the impact threw the woman through the air and then onto the street, where she was seriously injured on the side.
The accident happened shortly before 6:00 p.m. in the municipality of Musau. The 38-year-old German wanted to cross the Reuttener Straße (L69) with her bike to get to the Ranzental cycle path.
Head-on collision with a car
“There was a head-on collision with the car of a 29-year-old woman from the neighborhood,” the police reported. The violent impact caused the cyclist to first hit the windshield and then throw her several meters through the air. “She remained seriously injured on the side of the road,” the investigators continued.
The driver received a severe shock
The German received first aid at the scene of the accident and was then flown to hospital in Kempten by the medical emergency helicopter “RK-2”. The driver of the car was unharmed, but received a severe shock.
